Liverpool digital marketing agency Matchstick Creative has hired two new team members as part of the Government’s Kickstart scheme.

Running for just three years, Matchstick Creative has grown from a team of one to a team of seven. It was founded under its original name, J&R Agency, by content director Ruth Hartnoll.

After securing a number of new clients throughout lockdown, including the Everyman & Playhouse and iWoman, Matchstick Creative has sought to grow its team through the Kickstart scheme.

Set up by the Government in September 2020, the Kickstart Scheme aims to create thousands of job placements across the UK for 16 to 24 year olds who are currently on Universal Credit.

With the help of the team at Transform Lives Company, Matchstick Creative has been able to take on Faye Allen, a content and social media executive, and Carla Sparrow, a graphic designer.

Ruth said: “We’ve been very fortunate that we’ve grown from just myself three years ago to now having a team of seven people. We’ve grown quickly because we’ve managed to find a really good niche that we operate in.”
