Liverpool ceramic tile manufacturer Tile Fire has secured a deal to produce more than 10,700 sq ft of bespoke tiles for a new luxury hotel in Southampton.
Room2, comprising 71 studio rooms, is due to be completed by March 2018 and is operated by the Lamington Group, which operates a portfolio of short term rental apartments across London.
It has been designed by Project Orange, a Shoreditch-based architectural and interior design firm.
Tile Fire has manufactured a range of different tile patterns and sizes, including both wall and floor tiles for use across common areas and bathrooms in the new hotel.
The volume of tiles would be enough to tile approximately 200 average residential bathrooms.
Tile Fire director Andrew Cousins said: :“It’s a great project for us and one which suits our expertise.
“Over the last few years we’ve worked on a number of high volume hospitality projects including work for the Hoxton Hotel group and Nandos.
“Working with the hospitality industry always has its challenges, everyone always needs everything yesterday.”
Mr Cousins established Tile Fire in 2012 with the backing of Merseyside Special Investment Fund and in 2016 it won the Princes Trust regional enterprise award.
