Liverpool plays host to the British Style Collective this weekend – the UK’s biggest fashion extravaganza that has been held in Birmingham for the past 27 years.
Main focus of the three-day event, running from Friday to Sunday, will be at Exhibition Centre Liverpool with other activities taking place at Albert Dock, St George’s Hall and the Baltic Triangle.
Formerly known as The Clothes Show and organised by Haymarket Media Group, the British Style Collective will feature a celebration of fashion, beauty, fitness, health, celebrities, industry experts and education, along with a jam-packed programme of vibrant nightlife, entertainment and music.
Maryam Hamizadeh, Haymarket’s director of exhibitions, said: “Liverpool celebrates and embraces fashion, culture and arts and is experienced in staging large events which makes it the perfect destination for us to launch British Style Collective.
“We are working closely with iconic venues to provide a diversity of experiences ranging from the Alcatel Fashion Arena for a fashion meets music theatre performance to interviews with industry experts.
“We also have several restaurants, bars and hotels working with us to make this a city wide takeover. We look forward to welcoming everyone from July 7 – 9.”
Councillor Wendy Simon, Assistant Mayor and Cabinet Member for Culture, Tourism and Events, said: “There is a real buzz around the British Style Collective taking place in the city this weekend.
“It’s such a fresh and dynamic event, yet brings with it the legendary association of The Clothes Show which is such a well-known and respected brand in the fashion industry.
“Liverpool is a city that thrives on fashion – people live and breathe it, so it really is the perfect fit to host it in a number of our incredible city venues.”
