Liverpool hospitality academy seeks young trainees for November fast-track course

Young people in the Liverpool city region are being invited to apply for a place on a fast-track hospitality skills course starting in just two weeks.

The Know Hospitality Academy four week course starts on Monday, November 6, and ends with a graduation lunch in December.

As part of the course, trainees will be given a uniform and assigned mentors in the 4-Star, Best Western Premier Collection, Richmond Apart Hotel, in Hatton Garden in the city centre.

They will be taken through every aspect of the varying roles within the hotel – from housekeeping, to beauty, to bartending to reception to accounts work.

The candidates will also receive specialist Best Western Customer Service and Lavazza Branded Barista training.

The intensive course will include education sessions from a fully-qualified higher education tutor, as well as a brand-new curriculum, designed by the Know Hospitality team, in conjunction with delivery partners HIT Training.

Andi McGregor, talent acquisition director for The Know Collection and course leader, said: “This is a real opportunity for those wanting to explore the world of hospitality and to find out what it’s really all about.

“There are so many different opportunities for so many different talents and this is a great way to ignite hidden passion within our young recruits for the myriad of roles.”

Trainees will undertake 100 hours on-the-job training and meals will be provided during the course as well as travel expenses.

Those wishing to apply must be aged 16 or above, and available from November 6 through to December 6, when the graduation lunch will take place at The Richmond.

The aim of the course is to place the individual into work or an apprenticeship in hospitality at the end.
