Liverpool ONEs food offer is streets ahead

A new and exclusive food offer is coming to Liverpool ONE, it can be revealed today.

The Mexican street food brand, Wahaca, co-founded by Thomasina Miers, will arrive well in advance of the festive season, together with Reds True BBQ.

And at the start of the New Year, Caribbean restaurant, Turtle Bay, will open its doors.

Wahaca and Reds True BBQ will share two floors at 111 to 116 Hanover Street and Turtle Bay will be located at 123 to 124 Hanover Street.

Dynamic, fast-paced and facing the thriving Rope Walks area of Liverpool city centre, Hanover Street is home to an eclectic mix of bars and restaurants appealing to visitors seeking something different.

Together with Bem Brasil, Lunya, the independent Catalunyan restaurant on nearby College Lane, and its other well-known bars and restaurants, Hanover Street is gaining a reputation as one of the most up-and-coming dining destinations in the North West.

Chris Bliss, estate director at Liverpool ONE, said:

“With sales and footfall growing year-on-year, demand for space at Liverpool ONE is at its strongest, as reflected in these latest signings.

“Wahaca, Reds True BBQ and Turtle Bay each bring something very different to the city – and Liverpool ONE specifically – and will further increase its appeal as the most exciting retail and leisure destination in the North West.”

Thomasina Miers, co-founder of Wahaca, added:

“Liverpool is unparalleled as a UK cultural hub and we have been looking for the right location here for a while.

“The opportunity to move into Liverpool ONE in a great position was an easy choice for us and we’re excited to bring our Mexican market food, original street art and pure agave tequila and mezcal to Merseyside.”

Year on year, catering sales at Liverpool ONE have increased by 12.5%, ahead of the 8.6% increase in restaurant spending reported in a recent survey by Visa Europe and Markit.
