Supported by the National Foundation for Youth Music and funded via Arts Council England, Merseyside Youth Association’s Noise Project is open to young people of all backgrounds aged 12 to 25

Merseyside Youth Association (MYA) has secured National Lottery funding for aspiring musicians aged 12 to 25.

Supported by the National Foundation for Youth Music and funded via Arts Council England, the Noise Project is open to young people of all backgrounds and music abilities and provides a range of free activities.

These include one-to-one tuition, band development, creative mentoring and live performance.

Based at MYA’s purpose-built studio in Liverpool city centre, the project offers young people from all areas of Merseyside a safe, supportive environment to explore their musicality and meet like minds.

Project manager Garth Jones said: “With Paul McCartney making headlines still in 2018, our aim is to inspire and equip the next generation of Merseyside musicians to make their mark on the world. From rap to rock, from dance to drill – whatever you’re into, Noise is for you.”

Youth Music chief executive Matt Griffiths added: “Merseyside has such a strong musical heritage in many genres. The Noise Project will support young musicians to develop personally and socially, as well as providing them with a high-quality space to develop their musical skills.”
