Liverpool secures £1.59m for business support

Liverpool City Council launches marketing campaign after securing £1.59m of Government cash to support local businesses and entrepreneurs. Tony McDonough reports

Liverpool City Council has secured £1.59m from the Government to support businesses and entrepreneurs.

A new marketing campaign has now been launched to promote the range of fully funded business support packages being delivered by the authority’s Business Support Service.

This initiative is being backed by the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority as the lead authority.

The Embrace Your Full Business Potential campaign has been designed by the team at Marketing Liverpool.

It features eye-catching advertisements in Moorfields and Central stations, as well as on digital screens at key bus stops and high-traffic locations, including Queens Drive, Edge Lane, and other locations.

Kate Bull, Liverpool City Council’s director of economic strategy, skills and sustainability, said: “Liverpool is filled with hard working, fantastic entrepreneurial people.

“Our Business Support Service helps them thrive by offering comprehensive support at every stage of business growth. From start-ups to established enterprises, we provide free essential resources for success.

“With our new campaign, we’ve expanded our reach to connect with even more businesses across the city, ensuring everyone is aware of the support available.

“We expect this initiative to significantly boost engagement, helping more Liverpool businesses flourish.”

Delivered by a new framework of specialist advisors, the tailored support will cover areas including exporting and international trade, human resources, lean and process improvement, marketing and sales, procurement and tender readiness and strategic business planning.

The outdoor marketing campaign promotes elements of Liverpool City Council’s broader Business Support Service, which includes:

  • Gateway to business support – providing referrals to valuable programs, webinars, events, clinics, networking, and workshops.
  • Specialist advice – offering intensive business growth support, this provides fully funded expertise and dedicated relationship management.
  • Start-up support – presenting aspiring entrepreneurs with a series of useful workshops and access to an online hub.
  • Cluster development – Focusing on key sectors including creative technology and professional services and tailored support in strategic areas of Liverpool.
