Katherine Jones launched the ThinK Wine Group in Liverpool in the summer of 2019 and now she is celebrating yet another industry award. Tony McDonough reports

Liverpool based wine business, ThinK Wine Group, has won a Silver People’s Choice Wine Awards. 

Taking place in Manchester earlier this week, the The People’s Choice Wine Awards are now in their fifth year. They offer consumer-friendly categories which attract entries from all over the world by many of the biggest brands.

ThinK won Silver in the ‘Big Night In’ category and the criteria for this was defined as “a wine to share with friends and nibbles or to enjoy whilst watching TV. Fun, fruit-driven and young wines of any colour for easy drinking without food or with light snacks”.

In October last year ThinK Wine Group won two silver awards in the international ‘Glass of Bubbly’ Awards 2021 held in London. Speaking about the latest award, founder Katherine Jones said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won a Silver award in our first year of competing in The People’s Choice Wine Awards.

“It’s great to know how consumers feel about our product. The team and I work so hard on promoting our wines and to have this award means a lot to myself and the business, giving our wine even more credibility within a tough industry to break into.”

This latest award means the ThinK Wine Group has achieved six recognised awards in under three years of trading. It has continued to grow over the past 12 months, taking on new staff. ThinK is now available in twice as many cities and venues in comparison to this time last year.

A growing number of celebrities and influencers are being seen on social media drinking ThinK wine, such as Jake Cornish from Love Island, influencer Safiyya Vorajee and Morag Crichton from Married at First Sight.

Katherine has recently reached an agreement to stock ThinK in a chain of popular bars and restaurants in Los Angeles, and she will be heading over to the US in the next week to further expand her business.
