Lloyds Bank, Mid Markets Commercial Banking team at St Paul’s Square in Liverpool has launched a Business Class partnership with St Julie’s Catholic High School in Woolton.

The aim is to promote and develop employability skills at St Julie’s and help students stretch their aspirations and challenge themselves to achieve their potential.

Lloyds’ area director Caroline Cuthbertson said:

“We’re embarking on a three year partnership to promote and support the employability skills of the students and assist the school in achieving the objectives identified in conjunction with Business in the Community (BITC).

“The programme will focus on confidence building, those employability skills and using real life maths problems to bring these skills to life.”

The first twelve months will see a year of workshops which will be delivered during the school’s PSHE sessions to meet the needs of and focus primarily on the three areas mentioned.

Lloyds will be providing male and female role models to support the objectives of the programme.

Tim Alderman, head teacher at St. Julie’s said:

“I’m really proud that St. Julie’s has become the newest member of the Merseyside BITC cluster, partnering with the Lloyds Banking Group.

“There are so many great activities and workshops planned throughout the year including positive female role models in the workplace, building resilience and developing confidence, enhancing employability skills, providing students with an insight into the use of mathematical skills in the real world and in the world of business as well as providing opportunities for mentoring and work experience.”
