Local catering company provides support for new social enterprise
In hopes of giving something back to society, Carringtons Catering is offering continuous support to a new charity ran healthy eating café.
Director of Carringtons Catering Helen Wynn, who is also the vice chair of Nugent Social Enterprises, has been consulting and guiding the community interest company over the past few months, in line with the recent opening of its new café, The Courtyard.
The new Knowsley-based coffee shop aims to provide healthy food and beverages to local businesses and the community, as well as delivering education and training to people with disabilities – allowing them to gain industry standard qualifications to maximise their employment eligibility.
Helen Wynn said:
“It has been an honour to support Nugent Social Enterprises in the run-up to the new project, and I look forward to continuing to work besides such a devoted and enthusiast team. The objective of the café is such a brilliant idea, which will hopefully appeal to all members of the public.
“All of us at Carringtons really do like to go above and beyond when it comes to helping out local businesses and charities. Therefore, during the café’s grand launch, the team and I donated a wide selection of our culinary wonders.”
Whilst guests enjoy a vast array of refreshments at the social hub, they will also receive a feel good factor, as all of the profits made by the eatery go on to support the overall work carried out by Nugent Care. As one of the leading charities in the North West, it specialises in caring for children, disabled and marginalised people of all ages.
Social Enterprise Coordinator at Nugent Social Enterprises, Darren Roberts said:
“We are so grateful for all of the hard work, dedication and sheer effort that Helen and her team have provided us with. We hope to further the longevity of our relationship, and would therefore love to see Helen’s invaluable input in our future projects.”
