Lord Livingston confirms government support for the IFB
The International Festival for Business saw the return of Lord Livingston last week who has confirmed government support for the event.
He also visited to address a UKTI Indian Trade Conference as part of the large-scale business event, following his appearance at the beginning of las month to speak at the IFB opening ceremony.
Last week Livingston met up with IFB management team and visit the PlaceEXPO, the IFB investment exhibition area, hosted by Liverpool Vision and then gave a speech to over 100 companies.
He said:
“India is one of the fastest growing economies in the world. Whilst the UK and India are major trading partners, there remains huge opportunity to increase exports and investment and I hope events such as this will assist in achieving this.”
Livingston also congratulated the festival organisers on the IFB’s success, saying:
“The response to this international festival for business has been fantastic so far, with attendees from more than 90 countries participating in events.”
He added that he was delighted to announce that the IFB will again be supported by the government in its confirmed 2016 return “as part of our ambition to promote economic growth, rebalance the economy and double UK exports to £1tn by 2020”.
