Specialist manufacturer Holiferm will create 25 new jobs after it agreed to take a 10-year lease on a 90,000 sq ft unit in Liverpool city region. Tony McDonough reports
A specialist manufacturer of plant-based ingredients for industrial and consumer products is to create new jobs at a 90,000 sq ft unit in Wirral.
Manchester-based Holiferm has agreed a 10-year lease on the unit, at the Ocean Trade and Logistics Park in Wallasey at a rent of £375,000 per year. It will add to its existing sites in Manchester and Daresbury.
Holiferm develops and supplies sustainable plant based, fermentation-derived, ingredients for a range of industrial and consumer products. These include personal care, detergents and toiletry products used in the home.
It has secured a £400,000 grant from the Liverpool City Region Inward Investment Facilitation Fund. The fund is part of the £75m Business Growth Package introduced by Metro Mayor Steve Rotheram
Acting on behalf of site owner Dean Property Group, agents at Legat Owen secured the deal with the company. Ocean Park is located in a prominent position fronting onto Dock Road, Wallasey, at the mouth of the East Float Dock and the River Mersey.

Ben Dolman from Holiferm said: “We are extremely excited to build our first full scale plant at Ocean Park, which given the location has excellent logistical links to both suppliers and customers.
“The size of the unit we have taken means we have capacity for rapid expansion on the site, enabling us to bring the transition to biosurfactants much quicker.”
The letting at Ocean Park means the site is now fully let. Rupert Chadwick-Dunbar, surveyor at Legat Owen, added: “Bringing Holiferm to the Wirral is a huge coup for the area meaning new jobs and investment and we are pleased to have supported their expansion.
“This deal means that we are fully let at Ocean Park with the other occupiers including FINSA and Quickhire Events. Dean Property Group is a long-standing client and we currently act on a number of sites from Birkenhead to North Wales on both agency and professional work.”
Jonathan Beaver from Dean Property Group also said: “Achieving a back-to-back letting on a unit of this size keeps our void rates across the portfolio to a minimum. We are looking forward to working with Holiferm to aid their expansion over the coming years.”
