Mersey hotel offers remote working space

With many people still having to work from home due to the pandemic a Liverpool city region hotel is offering an alternative space to help remote workers beat feelings of isolation. Tony McDonough reports

A Liverpool city region hotel is looking attract remote workers to use its facilities.

Since the start of the pandemic  in March 2020 millions of people have had to leave their offices and work from home. And while there has been some return to office life many people are still being asked to work remotely.

This has suited some office workers. However, other have found the transition to home-working difficult with reports of people feeling cut off or isolated. Based in Bromborough in Wirral, the Village Hotel is now utilising its space to provide capacity for remote workers looking for a change in their environment.

Village Hotels, operator of the Bromborough venue, has teamed up with a new venue-sourcing app called Swurf which connects remote workers with welcoming spaces, to launch its VWorks brand. It is allowing outlets such as hotels, bars and restaurants to unlock additional revenue streams.

Jamie Hunter, VWorks business ambassador for Village Hotels, said: “Swurf’s entire ethos and aim to connect a growing community of entrepreneurs, freelancers, home and remote workers with hospitality venues such as ourselves, makes them the perfect partner.

“Through our VWORKs initiative at our hotel in Bromborough, we’ve invested heavily in transforming our venues into a really attractive alternative to home working. With more local businesses needing greater workplace flexibility for their employees, our hotels are tailored to provide hot desks and private meeting pods through to collaborative presentation facilities.”
