Birkenhead-based Flynn Refrigeration strikes trade agreement with Maltese marine services firm Motherwell Bridge Industries. Tony McDonough reports.

Merseyside marine refrigeration specialist Flynn Refrigeration has secured a deal that will see its services supplied to customers in Malta and North Africa.

Birkenhead-based Flynn specialises in the global supply, installation, maintenance and conversion of refrigeration and air conditioning systems and parts.

The exclusive trade agreement with Maltese marine services firm Motherwell Bridge Industries will allow it to use Malta as a base to open up pathways to nearby Libya and Morocco.

Motherwell delivers customised engineering services including on-site construction and maintenance of port-handling equipment, non-destructive testing inspections, technical training, tooling and marine engine overhauling and servicing.

Flynn managing director Alex Flynn said the move will broaden both reach and profile particularly in markets including commercial and leisure marine.

“Essentially, the Motherwell Bridge team will take the lead as service providers for our spare parts, sales, installation, servicing and maintenance across the southern Mediterranean and North Africa region,” he explained.

“Crucially, our clients and customers will benefit from a centrally located point of contact and a ‘middle man’ on the ground they can meet and deal with face to face.

“They will have access to a team of highly-skilled professionals throughout the process.”
