Owner of Mersey Reach business park in Aintree secures two lettings with a global medical device business and an additives manufacturer totalling 27,669 sq ft. Tony McDonough reports
Northwood Urban Logistics has concluded two deals, securing lettings totalling 27,669 sq ft at Mersey Reach business park in Aintree.
Applied Medical UK, a global leader in the medical device industry has taken Units 7C, 8A, and 8B at Mersey Reach on Dunnings Bridge Road totalling 18,687 sq ft.
REPI (UK), a company specialising in manufacturing and supplying dyes and additives for the plastics industry will occupy Unit 6D at the park measuring 8,982 sq ft.
These lettings leave just two new build units remaining on the scheme measuring 4,203 and 4,047 sq ft respectively. They can be combined to offer 8,250 sq ft.
Mersey Reach utilises eco-friendly technologies to minimise occupancy costs. Measures include a low air permeability design, high-performance insulated cladding and roofing materials, electric vehicle chargers, and 15% warehouse roof lights.
JLL and B8RE are the joint letting agents on Mersey Reach, acting on behalf of the landlord, Northwood Investors. JLL negotiated the deal with Applied Medical, who were represented by Avison Young. B8RE, negotiated the deal with REPI who were unrepresented.

Thomas Marriott, associate at B8RE, said: “The two most recent lettings at Mersey Reach demonstrate the strong levels of occupier demand for MLI (multi-let industrial) accommodation that we are still finding in the North West despite economic uncertainty.
“As shown in our B8 Real Estate Market update on North West Industrial & Logistics, take up of new build units under 15,000 sq ft, accounted for the majority of transactions in 2023 for new build units below 90,000 sq ft, for a second consecutive year.”
