More than 10,000 sq ft of office space is being brought onto the market in Liverpool’s commercial district following a £290,000 upgrade.

Millfield Estates has invested in improvements to Yorkshire House in Chapel Street. It was built in 1926 and was formerly the local headquarters of Yorkshire Building Society. It is now home to a number of businesses.

In a project managed by CBRE’s North West building consultancy team, the old windows across four floors were replaced with modern double-glazed windows. Period style features on the ground floor were refurbished along with external redecoration.

Air conditioning works have also been completed, replacing old external condensers with the most up to date, efficient system. Following the works, joint letting agents CBRE in Liverpool and Worthington Owen will offer more than 10,000 sq ft of office space ready for occupation.

More than 7,000 sq ft of office space will be available on the first and second floors with suites ranging from 1,323 sq ft to 3,316 sq ft and 3,283 sq ft is ready for occupation on the third floor.

Over the past four years, the eight-storey building has seen an ongoing investment into refurbishment by Millfield. Additional works are already under way to refurbish the first and second floors, including the sub-division of the second floor into two office suites to accommodate a wider range of occupiers.  This work will complete in the next few weeks.

Neil Kirkham, director of CBRE’s office agency team in Liverpool, said: “Millfield Estates’ continued investment into upgrading Yorkshire House, since it acquired the building in 2016, is testament to the commercial growth in Liverpool and the appeal of this contemporary office space.

“We are delighted to be marketing the available accommodation in the heart of Liverpool’s business district, which delivers an inspiring environment for businesses.”
