Liverpool law firm Morecrofts will hold its annual Domestic Abuse Conference in the city centre on Thursday, June 29.

Taking place at the Hilton Hotel, the multi-agency conference aims to educate and motivate delegates. It will also look to provide insight into a wide range of professional practices and perspectives on domestic abuse.

Now in its seventh year, the conference has become a key event for professionals who encounter domestic abuse in their line of work. They include police officers, NHS staff, social workers, lawyers, local government officials, educators and housing organisations.

Speakers confirmed for this year’s event include:

  • Dr Jules Carlisle, lead consultant clinical psychologist at Mersey Care NHS Trust.
  • Domestic abuse consultant Malka Livingstone.
  • Emma Pickering, senior tech abuse manager at charity Refuge.

More speakers will be announced in due course. The full-day event also offers an opportunity for networking across different sectors. There will be a light breakfast, lunch and afternoon refreshments included in the delegate ticket.

“They value the insights, updates and experiences that are shared among delegates and speakers throughout the day.

“It is an opportunity for all those who care for and protect victims of domestic abuse to come together, understand any policy changes and identify new ways to tackle this malign problem.”
