Law firm managing partner Emma Carey is one of a number of Merseyside business people shortlisted in the Northern Power Women Awards.
Emma took over as managing partner of Liverpool-based MSB, one of the fastest-growing law firms in the North West, just under a year ago and has continued to drive its expansion, as well as push its diversity and inclusion agenda.
She is shortlisted in the Transformational Leader category. Two other Liverpool law firm bosses are also on the shortlist in the same category – Alison Lobb of Morecrofts and Nik White of Brabners (the awards also recognises the contribution of men).
There are a number of other local nominees, including Irene Afful, former Merseyside Police inspector and founder of coaching business, Ametrine Enterprise Solutions, who is shortlisted in the Innovation category.
Others include Signature Living co-founder Katie Kenwright (Outstanding Entrepreneur), Jennifer Powell of law firm Weightmans (One to Watch), and another law firm representative, Haley Farrell of Broudie Jackson Canter (Mentor). Click here to view the full shortlist.
In its fourth year, the Northern Power Women Awards attracted more than 900 nominations across 10 award categories. The nominations were shortlisted and assessed by 60 judges ranging from independent business owners to senior executives from large multi-national organisations.
Simone Roche, founder of Northern Power Women said: “The number of nominations we received this year demonstrates the outstanding talent we have in the North of England. It was an extremely tough job for our judges and I didn’t envy them having to make the decisions.”
The awards ceremony, sponsored by Manchester Airports Group, takes place at Manchester Central Convention Complex on Monday, March 18.
