Music, magic and mayhem with Sooty and friends this Easter!

This Easter, click your heels, clap your hands and enjoy an eggciting journey Over The Rainbow as we’re off to see… The Wizard of Oz at the ECHO Arena Liverpool with Sooty and friends!

Shone Productions Ltd presents its eggstra special Easter pantomime, The Wizard of Oz, at the ECHO Arena Liverpool on Saturday, 9th April.

Starring Sooty, Sweep and Soo with Richard Cadell from CITV’s The Sooty Show, this magical panto features a delicious blend of beautiful scenery, colourful costumes, a live band, dazzling dance routines, great songs and plenty of laughter.

Joining Sooty and his mischievous chums on stage will be Leah Murphy as the homesick heroine Dorothy, Richard Caddell as the silly Scarecrow, Sean Rollo Rollason as the heartless Tin Man and Neil Hurst as the cowardly Lion.

Follow Dorothy and her adorable four-legged-friend Toto down the Yellow Brick Road to the Merry Old Land of Oz. During their travels, they meet some lovely friends including the scarecrow, tin man and the cowardly lion who needs some courage.

The four new friends are on a quest to meet the great and powerful Wizard of Oz, which won’t be easy, as the Wicked Witch of the West is determined to stop them by any means necessary….

Panto producer, James Shone, revealed:

“I am so excited to be bringing The Wizard Of Oz to my home town of Liverpool as part of my Easter tour, It’s a brilliant production featuring a live band and dancers plus great sets and costumes. We have such a strong cast to deliver this up-to-date pantomime version of the classic story which is packed with plenty of current popular songs.

“There is something for the whole family and I know that everyone will have an enjoyable time at the ECHO arena Liverpool.”

Sooty, Sweep and Soo can’t wait to bring their magic to the stage causing plenty of mayhem along the way – and there will also be opportunities to meet the naughty trio after the show.

Sooty’s TV partner, Richard Cadell, said:

“Sooty, being a brilliant magician, is very excited about meeting the great Wizard himself and Sweep has borrowed Sooty’s water pistol to squirt the Wicked Witch – though I’d bet it’s the audience that’s in for the drenching…!”

Soo admitted:

“I’m hoping to take Dorothy shopping for shoes – I’ve always felt that ruby slippers clash with gingham!”

Meanwhile, Sooty whispered:

“I think Richard is perfectly cast as the scarecrow as he’s never had a brain!”

He added:

“The panto is going to be a spectacular giggle for the whole family and I can’t wait to meet all my fans after the show – Izzy Wizzy – see you all in Oz!”

So bring your little munchkins to this spellbinding panto this Easter – but don’t forget your waterproofs…!
