MyCardium AI top the bill at MIB Awards
A Liverpool-based health-tech company has been recognised for its ground-breaking work in medical imaging and IA-powered cardiac diagnostics. Tony McDonough reports

Med tech company MyCardium AI, which develops artificial intelligence tools and services for cardiac imaging and cardiovascular diagnostics, has been crowned the overall winner of this year’s Merseyside Independent Business (MIB) Awards.
A spinout from the University of London, MyCardium AI claims its technology is 40% more accurate than expert human analysis and could mean significantly faster results and diagnoses for doctors and cardiac patients.
Its ‘human in the loop’ approach is trusted by clinicians worldwide to improve accuracy, reduce costs and accelerate the development of new treatments.
MyCardium AI collected two awards, including digital &technology business of the year, at a glittering back-tie ceremony on Thursday 16 October in front of an audience of almost 500 from across the city region.
Now in its eleventh year, the MIB Awards, founded by Morecrofts Solicitors, honours the innovation, resilience and diversity of Merseyside’s independent business community.
Alison Lobb, Managing partner at Morecrofts, said: “Each year, the MIB Awards uncover remarkable stories of innovation, creativity and determination.
“This year’s finalists reflect that spirit perfectly, and MyCardium AI is a shining example—using cutting-edge technology to make a tangible difference to people’s lives and the future of healthcare. We are incredibly proud to recognise their achievement.”
The Liverpool BID Company returned as headline sponsor for 2025. Its CEO, Bill Addy, added: “Independent businesses don’t just drive our economy—they define the character and spirit of our communities.
“The MIB Awards are a vital platform to celebrate those who push boundaries, improve lives and set new standards. MyCardium AI truly embodies that mission, and we congratulate them on a well-deserved win.”
