MYP charity ball to help build positive future for young people with cancer

The Merseyside Young Professionals annual charity ball returns to the Crowne Plaza in aid of the fantastic R Charity.

The event, which will take place on Friday 31st October, will welcome guests and friends of the network for an evening of activities, dining, fundraising and admission to a secret second venue. This year’s MYP charity ball has been kindly sponsored by Quilter Cheviot Investment Management.

The chosen charity for this year’s fundraising extravaganza is the Royal Liverpool University Hospital’s R Charity. The money raised at this year’s event will help fund a specialist Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Unit at the New Royal Liverpool University Hospital. The unit will offer specialist care, in an age-appropriate environment as well as emotional, psychological, practical and social support to people diagnosed with cancer who are aged 16 to 24.

The generous donations of those attending the MYP charity ball will go towards helping to furnish the 10 single en-suite bedrooms the ward will provide. It is planned that each room will have a flat screen TV and comfortable seating, creating a home from home for patients and their visitors. Patient bedrooms will include additional pull down beds so family members can stay close to their loved ones when they need them most.

Along with a sumptuous three course meal and a fundraising casino, attendees will also have the opportunity to win ‘money can’t buy’ prizes all in aim of raising money for a very deserving charity.

Guests attending this year’s charity ball will be whisked away to a secret second venue to continue the evening’s fundraising celebrations.

Jennifer Christian, Quilter Cheviot Investment Manager said:

“As a member of MYP and proud supporter of the charity ball, it is Quilter Cheviots’ absolute pleasure to be supporting this year’s event and beneficiary. Previous years have seen the MYP community come together and raise thousands for local charity that need our support.

“I am particularly intrigued to see the unveiling of this year’s second secret venue. This is something new for the MYP Charity Ball, and I know it has got us all speculating with excitement where it could be.”

Loren Slade, Events Fundraiser at R Charity (Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals Trust) said:

“Everyone at R Charity is delighted to be working so closely with MYP for this year’s charity ball. The support and generosity of MYP members will help to create a comforting environment for young people being treated for cancer, which will support them as well as their families.”
