National award for Wellbeing Enterprises CIC
Wellbeing Enterprises CIC have been named the proud recipients of the National Association of Primary Care (NAPC) “Best Practice Health and Wellbeing Innovation of the Year”.
The awards ceremony took place on October 22 in Birmingham and was set up to celebrate individuals and organisations and acknowledge their excellence in the field of health care delivery. The award ceremony has the vital role of showing how “best practice” can be used to improve the care for patients and the support offered to their families.
The Community Wellbeing Practice (CWP) initiative was envisioned and implemented by Wellbeing Enterprises CIC with help and funding from Halton Clinical Commissioning Group (Halton CCG), as a means of providing holistic healthcare within GP practices. This overall approach has also seen an improved response to the social determinants of health.
Their focus is on aligning community assets and resources around the GP practice, with the support of a team of dedicated Community Wellbeing Officers who can offer one-to-one support to patients in order to help them navigate the options provided by the community sector. The initiative also offers a range of psychosocial support, including life-skills training, a social prescribing programme, volunteering opportunities, and other training.
Chief Executive Officer of Wellbeing Enterprises CIC, Mark Swift, said:
“I am thrilled that our trailblazing work in Halton has been recognised for its innovative approach and strong outcomes for patients in the borough. I am proud of our whole team for this achievement and I would also like to thank Halton CCG, Halton Borough Council and local partner organisations for playing their part in the success of this initiative.”
