Exemplar Health Care opens new care home in Liverpool for adults with complex needs in a £5m investment that creates 100 jobs. Tony McDonough reports

A new £5m care home or adults living with complex and high acuity needs has opened in Liverpool, creating 100 jobs.

Exemplar Health Care, a provider of specialist nursing care for adults, has marked the official opening of Roseside in Netherley. Former Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Frank Prendergast and entertainer Pauline Daniels attended the launch.

Roseside will specialise in supporting adults living with complex mental health needs and neuro-disabilities. These include Huntington’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. They would otherwise face prolonged stays in hospital, away from their family and friends.

Following the investment, the home is now split into four, eight-bed communities – as small group living provides a more homely, supportive, and responsive care environment – and each of the 32 bedrooms has its own ensuite wet room. 

The home also features communal dining and living spaces, an activities hub, sensory bathrooms and a large accessible garden for residents and visitors to enjoy.

It will offer a multi-disciplinary healthcare team. The home has already recruited a mix of care, nursing and therapeutic specialists – with recruitment remaining underway for several roles, including an in-home occupational therapist and a physiotherapist.

Exemplar is a £120m-turnover business based in Rotherham and operates more than 30 care homes for adults across the UK.
