New coffee outlet opens at city centre station

A new coffee outlet has opened at one of Merseyrail’s busiest Liverpool city centre stations

A Gourmet Coffee Bar & Kitchen has opened at Merseyrail’s James Street station in Liverpool city centre.

Established in 2007, Gourmet Coffee Bar & Kitchen is the UK’s leading independent railway station coffee specialist. It now serves specialty coffee at more than 30 locations across the UK rail network.

At James Street station, customers can buy coffee made using beans sourced directly from Brazil. The new outlet is designed for both everyday commuters and leisure travellers passing through the city.

Suzanne Grant, chief commercial officer and deputy managing director at Merseyrail, said: “Travelling by train is about more than getting from A to B. Having places like Gourmet Coffee Bar & Kitchen at our stations adds extra value to the journey, giving customers time to pause, refuel and enjoy their travel experience.

“It’s another way we’re making rail a convenient, comfortable and appealing choice for people moving around the region.”
