New jobs as 24-hour gym is set to open this autumn
Around 15 new jobs are likely to be created when a new 24-hour Snap Fitness gym opens in Southport this autumn. Tony McDonough reports
A new 24-hour 7,000 sq ft gym will open in Southport in October under the Snap Fitness brand.
Snap Fitness Southport is likely to create around 15 jobs when it opens at the M Park Central 12 Retail Park. The venture is independently owned and operated by a Snap Fitness franchisee.
It will be equipped with the latest cardio and strength equipment, including large-screen treadmills with wireless phone charging and access to Netflix while people exercise
“We’re excited to be able to bring Snap Fitness to Southport,” said Michael Wishart, co-owner of Snap Fitness Southport.

“As a franchised business, Snap Fitness prides itself on community and people can expect a gym where people of all abilities can feel comfortable and welcome in.”
The facility will offer equipment for all types of exercisers, including a spacious free weights area which includes Olympic lifting platforms and strength equipment machines.
Group exercise classes are included as part membership. Co-owner George Wishart added: “The gym is now taking shape and we can’t wait to open in October.
“We will be creating a safe, vibrant and inspiring space for people to improve their physical and mental wellbeing.”
Snap Fitness operates more than 90 franchised gyms across the UK & Ireland and 1,000+ locations worldwide, which members are able to access.
