Community football organisation, Vision Community Football CIC, opens new indoor football centre in Liverpool that will support 30 teams

Community football organisation, Vision Community Football CIC, known in the city as Vision Football Development Academy, has opened a new indoor football centre.
Its new facility, Vision Performance Lab, at 89 Boaler Street in the Kensington area of Liverpool, will allow it to support more than 30 teams, offer more one-to-one sessions, small group sessions, team training as well as offer space for children to host parties.
Former Liverpool and Manchester United youth footballer and coach Connor Tagoe and his business partner Rob Bersantie started their football academy, Vision, in 2021.
They developed an idea to build a diverse, supportive community, using football to give young people opportunities and keep them off the streets.

Connor said: “Our vision is to get communities playing together. We bring in male and female coaches from different backgrounds, languages, so that the kids feel at home. In the English league, 42% professional players are Black – but just 4% of coaches.
“We’re really excited to open the doors at Boaler Street. It’s a year-round pitch for boys and girls to learn and play and develop their skills and provides a safe space for them to play football with freedom.”
Since its launch in 2021, Vision Football Development Academy, has created pathways for players going into professional football clubs. Around 70 boys and girls have gone on to play for youth teams of professional clubs.
