Liverpool marketing agency Verb Marketing has promoted Tristan Folkard to managing director three years after he joined the firm.

Tristan joined the city centre-based agency in November 2017 from Kingsley Recruitment, where he was an associate director. Previously he had worked at EAD Solicitors, now known as Simpson Millar.

In January, LBN reported that Verb had enjoyed “unprecedented” growth in 2020, a period which saw a tripling of its headcount after it secured a number of new clients. The business is relocating to a new city centre base to accommodate this growth.

Verb’s former managing director and founder, Dean Currall, now steps up to become chief executive. He said Tristan had played a “pivotal role in the growth of the firm, adding: “Tristan is a huge asset to Verb and over the past few years, he has helped take us to the next level.”

Tristan’s promotion is one of a number across the business including Jack Doran and Lucy McGarrigle who are now verb’s two account managers. Pete Richardson who has becomes head of creative after working with Verb for almost five years, and Sophie Sorrell  is promoted to head of communications after joining the company almost two years ago.

Other new people to join Verb, include Joe Bedford who is the new video production manager. He previously worked for his own independent production company. And Sarah Dunne the new PPC Manager who has a number of years of experience in marketing and developing successful PPC campaigns.

Jamie Copley is the new head of affiliates with six years of experience working in marketing. He joins from SportPesa. Elena Rosewell, the firm’s social media manager who previously worked as an account executive for marketing agency Hitch in Bromborough, will now perform the same role at Verb.

Verb has also established a new influencer department headed up by Danny Walker. He is joined in the team by Ella Whitby, PR influencer manager and Niamh Jones, influencer engagement officer.

Dean added: “We have added some great new members to the Verb team over recent months, as well as promoting some of our existing team members to more senior roles thanks to their hard work and dedication.

“I look forward to seeing how Tristan and the rest of the Verb team will build on our recent success and help Verb to grow further throughout 2021.”
