Low cost airline easyJet adds new summer route from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to a city offering ‘striking Moorish architecture’. Tony McDonough reports

Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) will offer a new summer route in the next few months.
Low-cost airline easyJet will take the number of destinations from LJLA up to 41 with a new route to the Spanish city of Seville.
This new service to the Andalusian capital will operate twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays and will take off on August 2. Fares will start from £34.49 one-way.
Seville is a city known Seville for its striking Moorish architecture atmospheric old town, world‑famous tapas bars and vibrant cultural scene.
Paul Winfield, LJLA’s aviation director, said: “We are delighted to welcome another fantastic easyJet route to Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
“Seville is a stunning cultural destination with strong demand for both outbound leisure travel and inbound tourism.
“EasyJet’s continued growth here at the North West’s faster, easier, friendlier airport demonstrates the strength of the Liverpool market and we anticipate this new Seville service will be very popular with travellers across the region.”

Over the past 12 months, easyJet has continued to expand its Liverpool network, and will be adding another aircraft to its base at the airport later this year – taking the Liverpool aircraft fleet to nine.
