Acclaimed Liverpool hair and beauty lounge Star Salon opened its second outlet in Wallasey this month.

To celebrate the arrival of the new Seaview Road site, proprietor Kelly McDonald and her team of top stylists and colourists held a charity open day on Monday 1st December, which introduced the salon to locals and raised vital funds for Wirral Hospice St John’s.

As well as being treated to light refreshments, guests also received exclusive HD goodie bags, specials offers and one lucky winner was presented with a Wella hamper as part of the charity raffle.

Kelly said:

“The public response to our new outlet was fantastic. Not only did guests gain a first-hand look at the new salon, they were able to get a true feel of what we have to offer.

“At Star Salon we like to give back to the community, therefore it gave us great pleasure to take part in fundraising activity during the grand unveiling of the site. As a result of our visitors’ kind contributions, we were able to raise much needed funds for the compassionate charity, which cares for patients with life limiting illnesses including cancer, heart problems, kidney and respiratory disease and neurological conditions.”

After acquiring more than 15 years’ experience in the hair and beauty sector and becoming a Wella Master Colour Expert, Kelly founded Star Salon back in 2010. As the only North West salon to have reached the regional final in the global Wella Trend Vision competition, the brand is set to further its recognition and reputation following the new establishment.

In line with Star Salon’s ‘affordable luxury’ ethos, the Wirral-based venue aims to mirror the original Bootle salon by incorporating multiple state-of-the-art hair and beauty stations, together with a stylish interior and provide a mixed array of treatments.

“Being chosen by Star Salon as their charity for their partner was very special for us.

“They have certainly given Wirral Hospice St John’s the star treatment. By supporting our hospice through the charity day, Kelly and her team have helped us to continue to give specialist care and comfort to our patients and to their families, carers and loved ones. We are very grateful for their support.”
