Plans for new Birkenhead industrial space submitted

Two Manchester based companies are coming together to work on a new scheme on the Wirral.

Developer Capital & Centric and SixTwo Architects will both be working on plans which have been submitted for 20,000 sq. ft. of industrial space in Birkenhead with six units.

Capital & Centric are buying the site in Abbey Street from Wirral Borough Council and hopes to secure a regional growth fund grant while the ‘Lightbox’, as it has been named is being designed by SixTwo.

Director Adam Higgins said:

“Our interest was sparked in Birkenhead due to Capital & Centric’s experience in delivering employment generating projects with high quality design and energy efficiency at their heart.

“The six units we’re making available to the market are aimed at the renewables supply chain and are set along a tree-lined boulevard arranged around a courtyard. The design of the units provide industrial working space with an office frontage which is welcoming for visitors. Like all our new build schemes, the units will be built to ‘BREEAM Excellent’ standards and it set to create circa 75 jobs in the local area.”
