Top chef Raymond Blanc will top the bill at this year’s Liverpool Food and Drink Festival, taking place at Liverpool’s Sefton Park in September.
Mr Blanc is the owner and chef at Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons, a hotel-restaurant in Great Milton, Oxfordshire which has two Michelin stars. Self-taught, he has trained other leading chefs, including Marco Pierre White and Michael Caines.
Foodies will have the chance to see the self-taught chef in action at the festival, taking place on the weekend of September 15/16, as he shares some of his culinary secrets and prepares his favourite dishes at the pop-up event.
Now in its 11th year, the Liverpool Food and Drink Festival will showcase some of the city’s finest flavours, bringing local restaurants together to serve up some of their most popular dishes.
There will also be a whole programme of masterclasses and demos taking place throughout the weekend, where foodies can pick up tips from top local chefs and industry experts.
Mr Blanc said: “I love the concept behind Liverpool Food and Drink Festival. Talented local chefs coming together to showcase their signature dishes in one of the city’s most beautiful parks is such a wonderful idea.
“Great food should be celebrated in this way and I’m really looking forward to exploring Liverpool’s local food and drink scene during the festivities.”
During the festival, visitors can enjoy tasty treats from a producers’ market, as well as a wide range of international street food stalls. There will also be live music and family entertainment throughout the showground with dedicated areas for craft beers, gins, wines and speciality coffees.
Isabella Kantor, Liverpool Food and Drink Festival manager, said: “Raymond Blanc is one of the most recognisable chefs in the world and one of the greatest gastronomic pioneers of our time. It really is a huge honour that he will be joining us at Liverpool Food and Drink Festival this year.”
Tickets to Liverpool Food and Drink Festival start from £7 per day and £11.50 for the whole weekend, with free entry for children under 14. Click here for more information and to book.
