Real ale lovers can look forward to a perfect ten

Waterloo Beer Festival makes its tenth appearance next week, with organisers promising an early Christmas treat.

The popular event takes place at Old Christ Church across five sessions from Thursday 19th November to Saturday 21st November, just five weeks before Christmas.

Visitors can sample up to 150 real ales and ciders from microbreweries across the UK, including a number of drinks making their debuts at the festival, as well as the redoubtable Liverpool Gin and a range of wines and soft drinks.

Waterloo Beer Festival is organised by Real Ale Events in association with Liverpool Organic Brewery and Bruntwood.

Local artisan food producers such as Liverpool Cheese Company, Peninsula Pies and Liverpool Cake Company will also be available, while guests can enjoy live entertainment from Splintered Ukes, Swingology, Dave Fingers and Fun King Nero ft Evan LaFlamme.

Mark Hensby, managing director of Real Ale Events, said:

“Waterloo is our spiritual home and it’s fantastic that we’re already holding our tenth event here.

“Last year was the first time we held the autumn festival closer to Christmas, which proved a really popular move as we had a number of our regular guests telling us it gave the atmosphere an added sense of magic, so we’re hoping for more of the same this year.

“Christmas crackers have been on the supermarket shelves since August so we promise to turn a blind eye to any mistletoe or Santa hats if our guests want to beckon in the festive fun a few weeks early.”

Waterloo Beer Festival is supported by Bruntwood, owner of the nearby Burlington House office building on Crosby Road North, which includes the Trading Rooms space for smaller and start-up businesses.
