Liverpool fitness and leisure clothing brand Red Run secures deal with ‘high street powerhouse’ JD Sports that will see its range sold in stores across the UK and online. Tony McDonough reports

Liverpool fitness wear entrepreneurs Megan Kimmance, Abby Adderley and Joana Barbosa have secured a deal to sell their goods in JD Sports outlets.
Their fitness and leisure clothing brand Red Run was founded in 2020. It opened at Liverpool’s Royal Albert Dock before launching its flagship Liverpool ONE store in 2023. The firm has continued to expand and develop its collections.
Red Run products are also stocked in retail tycoon Mike Ashley’s Flannels outlets but this latest deal takes the brand into a new level. Four new collections will be sold in 16 JD stores across the UK including Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dublin.
JD will also sell the Red Run range globally through its online store. The four collections are made up of the womenswear’s Muse and Twin Flame and menswear’s Aqua Edge and Charcoal.
Twin Flame and Charcoal are exclusive to JD only and won’t be available anywhere else, whereas Muse and Aqua Edge will launch in Red Run’s Liverpool ONE store and online from Thursday, April 17.
Abby Adderley said: “Our latest partnership with JD is a fantastic step forward for Red Run. The team and I are so proud to have an opportunity to showcase our brand to JD’s audience nationwide.
“JD Sports is a high street powerhouse, their stores are spectacular and we believe our product is the perfect match for JD and its consumers.”

Megan Kimmance added: “The four collections have been meticulously designed and in the making for over 12 months and we’re eagerly anticipating the launch of Red Run in multiple stores across the UK, including four in our home town, Liverpool.
“Working with a household name such as JD is incredibly exciting for an independent brand like Red Run. Our growth to date has been incredible and we’re confident that this partnership with JD will be the catalyst for even further development of the brand.”
Red Run was the only Liverpool business to win an award at the Barclays Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in December 2024. It took home the High Growth award, a category that recognises entrepreneurs that have achieved year on year growth and/or market traction.
