18 homes at Woolton Fields were built as part of the Liverpool Housing Partnership, a collaboration between Redrow, Liverpool City Council and Liverpool Mutual Homes. Tony McDonough reports
Housebuilder Redrow has sold all 18 new homes at its Woolton Fields development in South Liverpool.
Built on the site of the old Lower Lee School, in Beaconsfield Road, and close to the iconic Strawberry Fields, the houses have been mainly bought by families, with four bought Government-backed Help to Buy scheme to reduce their initial outlay with a 20% equity loan.
The last of the properties is due to legally complete in spring 2018.
Faye Whiteoak, Redrow development director for Liverpool, said: “The sell-out success of Woolton Fields comes shortly after we legally completed the last of 21 homes at Knights Park, also in Woolton.
“Both of these schemes form part of the Liverpool Housing Partnership, an award-winning collaboration between Redrow, Liverpool City Council and Liverpool Mutual Homes.
“It’s an arrangement that sees profits from council land sold to Redrow directly invested in new affordable housing by LMH.
“The two Woolton developments have utilised vacant, brownfield sites so our homes have contributed to regeneration of the area as well as adding to the housing numbers the council must provide.”
The three and four-bedroom detached homes at Woolton Fields are all built to Lifetime Homes standards, meaning they can be adapted to suit homeowners as their needs change. Redrow also contributed £18,000 to improve public open spaces in the area.
The developer still has homes for sale under the Liverpool Housing Partnership umbrella at Redbridge Park, Fazakerley, Regency Manor and Regency Gardens in West Derby, with future projects planned.
Liverpool Mutual Homes has completed refurbishment of Marwood Towers, in Everton, to create 81 properties for the over 55s, eight new homes on the site of the old Larkhill Library in Hewitson Road, off Queen’s Drive, 10 new homes for affordable rent on Everton Road, 16 new properties at Tetlow Street and 34 homes at Leighton Dene.
It has a further 149 properties under construction or in the pipeline through the Liverpool Housing Partnership at developments in Fazakerley and Kensington.
