This year’s Merseyside Lip Sync Battle is set to take place at the Camp and Furnace in Liverpool this summer.

On Wednesday, July 19, performers will compete at the Baltic Triangle venue to be crowned champion lip syncers. And the event will raise funds for housing and homelessness charity Shelter.

This annual event sees contestants take to the stage solo, or with a group of up to four friends or colleagues.

Professional backing dancers and choreography are provided, with rehearsals taking place in early July. Those taking part choose an artist and song to perform, with the audience choosing the winner via text donation.

Hosted by The Guide Liverpool and radio presenter Jay Hynd, all funds raised from this year’s Lip Sync Battle will help Shelter’s frontline services to continue providing free and expert help to anyone facing homelessness in Merseyside and beyond.

“It’s something different and by taking part in, or coming along to the event, the community will be helping Shelter to be there for people whose lives are on the line.”
