The Liverpool office of multi-disciplinary property consultancy Ridge and Partners has secured a major new appointment in the city’s docklands.

Ridge has been appointed across three of its core disciplines by investor Barings Real Estate to advise on the next phase of its Queen’s Dock residential development.

The American fund manager entered the UK private rented sector in October last year with the £46.75m acquisition of a 240-unit development called The Keel from Moorfield Group.

The deal included two plots with planning consent for a further 257 units and Ridge has been appointed to provide employer’s agent, quantity surveying and mechanical and electrical design services for this next phase.

“It seems fitting to be able to announce such a flagship appointment as we celebrate our tenth birthday,” said Ridge’s north west managing partner, Jason Howard.

“During that time we’ve advised on some of the region’s most prestigious projects, such as the refurbishment of India Buildings, as well as ones dear to our heart, such as the wonderful Claire House Children’s Hospice.

“Our success has enabled us to grow our offer to incorporate more than a dozen disciplines.  Liverpool is thriving and we’re growing with it.”

Ridge entered the Liverpool market 10 years ago with the acquisition of long-established quantity surveying practice Walfords and since then has grown its service offer to include a broad range of planning, project and cost management, surveying, architecture, design, engineering, health and safety and property consultancy as well as expert witness and advisory services.

The firm will work alongside architects Brock Carmichael on the latest phase of Queen’s Dock.
