Low-cost airline Ryanair is to offer three new routes to Copenhagen, Corfu and Paphos from Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA)  from next summer, taking the total number of services to 34.

The Irish carrier said all three routes will operate a twice-weekly service and people can now book for next summer.

The announcement comes weeks after Ryanair reported a 7% fall in half-year pre-tax profits to 1.2bn euros for the six months to September 30 from total revenues of 4.43bn euros.

Ryanair and rival easyJet are the two biggest carriers at LJLA and between them offer more than 60 routes.

Robin Kiely, spokesman for Ryanair, said: “We are pleased to launch our Liverpool summer 2019 schedule with 34 routes, including three new routes to Copenhagen, Corfu and Paphos.

“Customers in the North West region can now book flights to the sunshine as far out as October 2019, all on the lowest fares. To celebrate we are releasing seats for sale from just £19.99, for travel in November, which are only available for booking until midnight Friday (November 2).

LJLA’s Paul Winfield added: “These routes will be popular for passengers from across the North West of England travelling from Liverpool John Lennon Airport.”
