Scores of success at Liverpool Law Society’s Legal Awards
On Friday (15th May), more than 300 people attended the Liverpool Law Society’s annual Legal Awards at the city’s Crowne Plaza hotel.
The evening saw Alison Lobb of Morecrofts pick up the award for Solicitor of the Year, Tracey Miller Family Law, MSB Solicitors and Jackson Canter pick up the gong for small, medium and large law firm, respectively.
This is the third award for MSB in recent months, after picking up property law firm of the year at the Move Awards late 2014 and managing partner Paul Bibby was awarded Legal Entrepreneur of the Year at the Livercool Awards hosted by Downtown in Business.
Paul Bibby said of the win:
“The growth of the firm since we launched more than 25 years ago has been huge, on reflection, and the last six months in particular has been an accelerated period of development for us, with a number of high-level appointments, expansion of our city centre office and launch of a number of key projects and initiatives.
“This award is testament the continued development of MSB. It’s been a real team effort and I’m lucky to have such a fantastic team around, eager to roll up their sleeves and with passion and skill in equal measure.”
“I’m incredibly proud that our hard work has been recognised and a huge well done to all the other winners.”
Morecrofts were double winners on the evening, picking up the award for Private Client as well as a personal feat for managing partner Alison Lobb, who picked up Solictor of the Year. She said:
“It was fantastic for the firm to be shortlisted in so many categories. The Liverpool Law Society Awards are so highly competitive and we were delighted with the outcome.
“Our Private Client teams are doing so much great work all over Merseyside and to be recognised for it is superb.
“Winning Solicitor of the Year was also such an honour. I’ve had a fantastic first 12 months as Managing Partner of Morecrofts and this just topped it off.
“I am so proud of the entire practice and the hard work every single person puts in to keep the Morecrofts brand and service so strong and consistent.
“A huge congratulations to all the winners on the night. It makes me so proud to be a member of the Liverpool legal profession.”
Emlyn Williams, president of The Law Society, said:
“The awards showcased the legal profession at its best and demonstrated excellence in legal services provided by our member firms in and around Merseyside, from smaller practices to those whose impact is felt nationally and internationally.”
