Shipping line WEC Lines is expanding its services at the Port of Liverpool with a second vessel linking the port with Spain and Ireland.
In June 2024, Netherlands-based WEC announced a new cargo route linking the Port of Liverpool with the Iberian Peninsula and Ireland. Now it has revamped the route with a second ship.
WEC Lines has revamped the existing UK, Ireland Spain route, renamed NWC Spain, running from Le Havre and Bilbao into the UK and Ireland into a weekly service while adding Antwerp, Montoir-de-Bretagne and Gijón to port calls.
By adding the second vessel to its service, WEC said it establishes a fast weekly sailing route from Bilbao & Gijón to Dublin and Liverpool. This will depart from on Fridays and arrive in Liverpool on Mondays and in Dublin on Wednesdays.
This new weekly route will be serviced by two dedicated 812 and 822-TEU vessels in a weekly, fixed day rotation, providing customers with a heightened level of flexibility and efficiency.
