Sign up for the Liverpool Legal Walk
Several hundred Liverpool lawyers will take part in a sponsored walk in late September to raise money to ensure more people get access to justice and there is still time to sign up
Liverpool lawyers will take part in the 11th Liverpool Legal Walk later this month to raise money to provide free legal help to those that need it.
This annual event sees solicitors, barristers, judges and others in the legal sector embark on a sponsored 5k walk. They will raise money for organisations which provide free legal help for people on low incomes.
Organised by the North West Legal Support Trust (NWLST) in conjunction with Liverpool Law Society, the walk will take place in Liverpool city centre on Tuesday, September 27.
NWLST chair Steve Cornforth said: “There has never been a time in the last 10 years when there has been a greater need for full access to legal assistance. This is largely provided by Law Centres and other voluntary agencies who give this help free of charge.

“The Liverpool Walk, and others taking place across the country provide critical financial support, especially when access to legal aid is now so limited.”
The 2021 Liverpool Walk raised more than £16,000 which went to local initiatives. As the cost-of-living crisis worsens this need is only going to grow. Any local law firms, barristers or anyone interested in access to justice is welcome to join in the walk on their own or to recruit and sign up a team. Click here to sign up.
Steve added: “We are also looking out for raffle prizes. If any local businesses can donate anything from a bottle of wine, a meal out of a Caribbean cruise contact me at stevecornforthconsultancy@gmail.com
