Spanish twins who are making the wedding dreams of Liverpool couples come true
Concha and Aurora Vazquez grew up in Seville and came to the UK to train as primary school teachers – but now they are working as the wedding coordinators at Liverpool’s Titanic Hotel
Spanish twins Concha and Aurora Vazquez have made Liverpool their home after coming here to study – and now the sisters are making their names as wedding coordinators at a leading city hotel.
The 29-year-olds, who grew up in Seville, both won separate scholarships to study primary school teaching at Liverpool Hope University.
However, since graduating, they both decided that the hospitality industry was where they saw their careers progressing and, after working together for three years, they went their separate ways to work in different city hotels.
After working in areas such as reservations and reception that have now come back to work together in jobs they have dreamed of doing since they were little girls – as wedding coordinators at Liverpool’s Titanic Hotel.
Aurora said: “We’ve been planning events since we were children. From eight years old we’d have big birthday parties and organise invitations, have a guest list at the door and create menus on blackboards.
“We also co-ordinated huge Christmas parties with our family with fancy decorations – it’s always been a hobby for us.”
When Concha started working at Titanic Hotel back in November, she never dreamed that Aurora would be joining her. But when the position became available, it was the ideal opportunity.
Concha added: “While gaining experience within the hospitality industry we realised this was the career we wanted.
“We have so much fun coming to work and love guiding couples through their journey. Our goal is to make it as stress-free for couples as possible.”
Titanic Hotel has two wedding venues – Rum Warehouse and West Bay, which is more romantic and intimate and both venues can be tailored for the brides’ and grooms’ special day.
