Wirral retail technology specialist Evoke Creative has secured a £2m finance package from HSBC as it looks to maintain its rapid growth.

Evoke, which employs 60 people, manufactures and supplies digital kiosks interactive displays, ticketing, signage and check-in machines to clients such as Google, McDonald’s, cinema chain Vue and Tesco.

The HSBC commercial loan will enhance Evoke Creative’s cash flow enabling the company to buy higher volumes of components for the bespoke kiosks it creates.

Evoke has seen 40% growth in the last four years and by the end of this year will have moved into a new development at Wirral International Business Park, Bromborough, close to its current home.

It currently exports to more than 40 countries around the world and its growth plans include a specific focus on the US market.

Dave Derby, managing director of Evoke, said: “One of the reasons we chose to work with HSBC on this deal is because of the bank’s strong business network in the US.

“It is a market we are keen to break into and we believe that with this funding, combined with HSBC’s local business knowledge, we will be able to realise this goal much sooner.

“The funding also gives us flexibility. If we are to continue servicing our current client base, meeting high volume demands, we need the capital to be able buy components and man power up front in order to keep our capacity and order turnover efficient.

Barry Millar, HSBC’s area director of Liverpool & Cheshire, said: “Evoke Creative has a proven track record of strategic growth and we are excited to see how the company implements this funding to continue its ambitious objectives.”
