St Paul’s Square offers summer events programme
Now the epicentre of the Liverpool professional community St Paul’s Square is to offer a summer events programme through July and August. Tony McDonough reports
A summer events programme will aim to bring St Paul’s Square in Liverpool city centre to life this summer.
Located off Old Hall Street, St Paul’s Square is now the heart of Liverpool’s central business district. Its buildings are home to multiple professional firms in sectors including law, finance, wealth management and property.
Now the landlords in the square have tasked property consultancy CBRE’s place team with organising a programme of events to bring the square to life during July and August.
There will be a a range of outdoor activities to enjoy which will range from mini tennis and crazy golf to wellness classes and street food until the end of August.
It will kick off with Strawberries & Cream starting on Monday, July 10. Candy Buffet will be serving fresh strawberries and cream while people will be able to sit on deckchairs and watch the Wimbledon tennis tournament on a big screen in the square. The screen is already up and working.
Strawberries & Cream will be given out on a first come first served basis on the day. You can reserve a place at the free event by clicking here.
Neil Kirkham, senior director at CBRE in Liverpool, told LBN: “CBRE has been working closely with the landlords and stakeholders of St Paul’s Square for some time.
“Late last year, we undertook a survey among occupiers to understand the perceptions of working here and how we can improve their experience.
“The engagement showed us that although the square is well occupied and people are generally happy, there is little in the form of activation.
“It also showed us that awareness of the site was low externally, especially when compared to other large office developments.

“As managing agents and as agents appointed to market vacant spaces within St Paul’s Square, we wanted to push for more, and created a working group to look at the opportunities to raise its profile and drive footfall.
“One of the outputs is this summer pilot which we’re running from July to September. Backed by the landlords of all buildings on the St Paul’s Square site, we’ve enlisted the support of CBRE’s place team to help us activate the square.
“We want people to know that St Paul’s Square is for everyone and we’re hopeful that our Summer Series of events will not only enhance the working experience in the Square, but also encourage our current occupiers to connect with one another.”
