Some of Britain’s best-known faces arrived at Amanzi on Saturday evening to celebrate restaurant owner Riad Erraji’s birthday.

Liverpool-born model Danielle Lloyd, who is a close friend of Riad’s, attended the bash alongside cast members from Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks. Former X-Factor contestant Marcus Collins, who finished runner-up in series eight, also turned out for the occasion.

The restaurant, situated on Water Street in the city-centre, was once home to the Newz Bar. The new upmarket eatery features three bars for pre or post-dinner drinks, and serves classic dishes with Asian fusion in contemporary surroundings.

Bosses behind Amanzi believe the quality of the food, drink, interior design and the calibre of the team all combine to create a truly special restaurant, “which will enhance the city’s offer within the hospitality market”.

The diner had a soft opening in December following a multi-million pound renovation of the Water Street venue. And it looks like it’s already becoming a huge hit with city celebrities.

Owners said they were delighted that so many famous faces gathered to celebrate.

Riad Erraji, operating partner of Amanzi, said:
