Support the lifesaving work of the RNLI at Crosby Family Fun Day on May Bank Holiday

Charity’s national Mayday campaign runs throughout the month of May and hopes to raise £750,000 to fund essential kit for the charity’s brave volunteer lifeboat crews.

Essential kid needed by an RNLI lifeboat volunteer – and what it costs

Lifeboat crews across the UK put their own lives at risk to rescue those in peril at sea and save hundreds of people every year – but the RLNI service is run entirely on voluntary donations.

You can help raise funds for this vital service by coming along to the RNLI’s annual Family Fun Day at Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre on Bank Holiday Monday, May 29.

The national Mayday campaign runs throughout the month of May and hopes to raise £750,000 to fund essential kit for the charity’s brave volunteer lifeboat crews.

This year’s Family Fun Day promises to be bigger and better than ever with a host of local stalls and activities, a world record attempt by team JKT and shows by celebrity singer Christopher Maloney, singer Karen Harvey and a Samba Show by The Anahis.

The event starts at 10am and run through until 4pm

Local community fundraising manager, Chloe Shore, said: ‘It would be great to see as many people as possible at one of our fun events but we’d also encourage everyone to embrace their own fundraising challenge.

“We’re asking people to ‘do your bit, fund our kit’ this Mayday and anyone who wishes to get involved can visit RNLI.org/Mayday to register for a free Mayday pack.

The charity is also encouraging people to show their support, and join the conversation, by using the hashtag #MaydayEveryDay, donating online or buying a yellow welly pin badge to show their support.

Last year, RNLI lifeboat crews across the UK and Ireland launched 8,851 times, rescuing 8,643 people and saving 431 lives.
