Sutton Kersh Auctions has sold £58m worth of property in 2022.

Rounding off its 20th anniversary year, Liverpool-based Sutton Kersh has held its final auction of the year. Over the course of the year it has sold 510 properties. Its December generated £6m in sales.

Cathy Holt, associate director of Sutton Kersh Auctions, said: “The last 12 months has been a bit of a rollercoaster within the property industry. There have been some incredible months with exceptional sales figures.

“There has also been a vast number of new buyers registering with us and properties selling before we could even list them online due to the exceptional demand.

“The last few months, however, have seen much unrest and uncertainty for many, but results from our last two auctions show there is still a high demand for residential and investment properties.

“Buying through auction remains more financially appealing to many, particularly in the current moment.”

Its December auction saw 33 Lots sold prior to the auction itself, equating to £3.5m worth in sales. The auction had a handful of lots that sold for significantly above their guide price.

Lot 59 in Bootle was a four-bedroom house with “huge potential”. It was listed for £100,000 and sold for £117,000.

Lot 63, a 3-bedroom mid-town house on Lovell Road in Speke, Liverpool, needed a full upgrade and refurbishment. It was listed for £50,000 and after a long and intense bidding war sold for £90,000.

Bidders from across the country registered for lot 87. This was a three -bedroom end-terrace property in need of refurbishment. After a strong bidding war it sold for £156,000 which was £56,0000 above its guide price.

Final lot was a property in Lawrence Road in Wavertree. This three-storey mixed-use property was in a state of disrepair, hence the low guide price of £145,000. However, after a lengthy bidding war it sold for £222,000.

The next auction will take place February 17, 2023.
