The Epstein Theatre welcomes World Class acts to stage this February
The Epstein Theatre welcomes an incredible, jam-packed line-up of shows this February featuring world-class entertainment including a burlesque variety show, a young persons’ arts festival, a football hero, 80s pop legend and even a comedy drag act!
A brand new group of award-winning singers, The 4Tunes will take to the stage on Friday 5th February with amazing harmonies, fabulous vocals and a personality rarely seen on stage. From rousing operatic arias to powerful and beautiful ballads, the 4 Tunes are, most certainly, the finest collection of male voices to be heard for a very long time. The guys have played almost every lead role in London’s West End, and are sure to deliver an unforgettable night of dazzling five-star entertainment.
Back by popular demand for its third successful tour of the UK and Ireland, is the magnificent Music Hall Tavern Show on Saturday 6th February, which will have everyone singing and dancing all night long. Join the ‘girls’ from the side-splitting drag show for an unforgettable night of laughter and dazzling costumes. It was once said that “if you don’t like drag acts then this is definitely the show for you” as the MHT promise to be the “funniest night of your holiday.”
Local children and young people have been given the opportunity to showcase their original live performances and films devised around the theme of mental health on Wednesday 10th February – Thursday 11th February.
NOW! Young People’s Arts Festival features youths aged 8-18 from 14 Liverpool schools and youth organisations who will be working with guest artists: Darren Suarez, Maurice Bessman and Carl Cockram along with a number of organisations including the Ariel Trust, CAMHS Wellbeing Partnership and Brighton University.
Solo music artist, Howard Jones, brings an intimate evening of songs and stories supported by Elise Yuill on Friday 12th February.
Howard Jones first burst upon the contemporary music scene in 1983 with his very English songwriting and thought provoking lyrics and has sold over 8 million albums across the globe. Howard Jones’ solo shows are an intimate trip through his 30-year music career. Many of his best known songs were composed on his favourite instrument; the piano. Howard shares behind the scenes stories and reveals the inspiration behind the songs in these rare acoustic shows.
For one night only, The Devine Theatre Company presents The Devine Valentines Spectacular variety show on Saturday 13th February. Showcasing a wide variety of talent, the show is back by popular demand hosted by Merseyside’s favourite, Michael Starke. Also topping the bill will be the Jersey Boys, who tell the true story of four boys from the wrong side of the tracks who wrote their own songs, invented their own unique sound, and sold 100 million records worldwide.
Acclaimed live comedy master, Jimeoin brings hilarious laugh-out-loud comedy to the Epstein on Wednesday 17th February. The star of TV’s Sunday Night at Palladium, Live at the Apollo and Royal Variety Performance musters his ever-evolving live show and the most famous eyebrows in comedy. The Irishman from Australia leaves his audience in stitches with his brilliant wit and razor-sharp take on the absurdities of life with often surrealistic climaxes.
Divulge in a night of incredible glitz and glam at Le Bouge Néon, the international Burlesque Collective that unveils the sumptuous world of vintage classic tease whilst taking you on a journey that discovers the joy in the vibrant colours from magical theatrical epochs of the ages. The only rule is to have an absolute ball on Friday 19th February as the biggest names in burlesque and variety invite you for a magical evening of more crystals, fire, feathers and tassels than Paris, Vegas and Berlin combined.
In his 12th solo stand-up show, Richard Herring examines whether we are can ever hope to be or are meant to be truly content. After years of drifting aimlessly and alone, Richard is now settled down with a wife and a tiny baby. Is he finally happy now? Or does responsibility for the lives of others come with its own terrors? Is there any system that will guarantee us eternal bliss or should we just embrace the fact that life is a vale of tears and our only option is to laugh in its face? These are the questions the comedian will muse over on Saturday 20 February in Richard Herring- Happy Now?
Prepare for an evening with one of the country’s greatest ever footballers, Gascoigne- The Live Show on Thursday 25th February. The best English footballer of his generation tells stories of his eventful career and even more eventful not so private life. An Audience with Paul Gascoigne promises to be a fantastic night of entertainment, including comedy, music, football, tears and so much more.
Gascoigne’s football career is particularly remembered for his England caps. He earned 57 appearances for his country and is described by the National Football Museum as “the most naturally gifted English midfielder of his generation.”
Coming off the back of Paul’s recent hit documentary film Gascoigne, fans will be able to hear the full life story of Gazza in the unique show in his own words, at The Epstein Theatre.
