Students of the University of Liverpool
Students of the University of Liverpool will be delighted after it has been announced that the guild of students building has been ear-marked for an expensive refurbishment. The £7m project to create a better environment for students will last 36-weeks and will be performed by the John Turner Construction group.
The grade II listed building is to receive some impressive renovations, least of all is an improved basement space which can be used for designing theatrical sets, kitchens, dance and music studios, cinema room, bookable space for societies to utilise and a storage area.
The project’s work is not restricted to refurbishing the student meeting area however, as it has also seen venues such as the Stanley Theatre and Mountford Hall receive a brand new sound and lighting system and decadently-sized bar respectively, that runs the full length of Mountford hall.
John Clarke, managing director at John Turner, said: “The completion of this high profile prestigious project has been a great achievement for us in Liverpool. After opening our office on Dale Street nearly five years ago, the success has been incredible.
Project manager of University of Liverpool Andy Murphy was equally impressed with the John Turner groups’ achievement saying:
“I’m absolutely delighted with the Liverpool Guild of Students refurbishment project. I set out to deliver a project that simply blew the socks off the client and the team certainly achieved that.”
