Video: Liverpool Airport CEO John Irving talks of big plans for expansion
Mr Irving too part in the first of a series of video interviews organised Wirral Chamber of Commerce giving itss members the opportunity to offer fascinating insights into their businesses
John Irving took over as chief executive of Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) in March 2018 and has enjoyed a successful first year with passenger numbers hitting 5.1m – the highest figure for seven years.
Now Mr Irving has talked about his early months at the airport as part of a new series of video interviews launched by Wirral Chamber of Commerce. The videos offer a fascinating insight into the operations of its members.
It kicked off with an interview with Mr Irving who previously worked at Newcastle International Airport where he drove record passenger and airline growth. A qualified management accountant, prior to his time in aviation he has held senior commercial and financial positions at Newcastle United and Procter & Gamble.
Last year, Mr Irving launched LJLA’s latest strategic vision which aims to grow passenger numbers of 8m a year by 2030.
