Birkenhead-based business turned a small corner of Manchester into a festive wonderland to film its new winter 2019 ad campaign as looks to attract new Christmas savers. Tony McDonough reports
Many of us may still be wearing t-shirts and shorts but over a Park Group in Birkenhead the countdown to Christmas has already begun.
Despite diversifying into retail gift vouchers and corporate reward programmes, Christmas savings remains a key element of Park’s business and the company turned a small corner of Manchester into a festive wonderland to film its new winter 2019 ad campaign.
The stars of this year’s Christmas ads are Jayme Kontzle, from Crewe, whose boyband The Mend reached the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent in 2012, and Michaela Longden, from Chesterfield, who has starred in Hollyoaks, Doctors and Coronation Street.
Despite soaring temperatures and the mercury teetering on the brink of 30o Celsius, Park’s marketing team dug out the tinsel and baubles to transform summer into winter for the new campaign, which is set to hit the screens later this year.
Making up the Park family for 2019, youngsters Avaya Hugo, four, from Gorton, Manchester and Roman Valentino, five, from Blakeley, will also appear in this year’s campaign.
Pamela Wildes, Park Christmas Savings’ marketing manager, worked alongside Manchester-based TV production company AdOn TV on the project.
“The summer sun was really intense, but it’s amazing what you can achieve with big blinds, some tinsel and Christmas lights, a lot of festive spirit and an amazing production team.
“Despite the temperature challenges, we’re absolutely delighted with the outcome of this year’s filming. We have an amazing young family, who were just a joy to work alongside, and we know this year will be another very special one for Park and its customers in the UK and Republic of Ireland.”
